THIS LIST CHANGES ALMOST WEEKLY as my LYME DISEASE treatment approach is constantly fine-tuned. I offer this to you only for Educational purposes. I have been off the Guaifenesin Protocol for months now (see progress notes). No, I AM NOT CURED! ~ but the fibromyalgia has been tamed (I have been working 3 days a week in our Real Estate office for months! I’m keeping the house sort of clean, fixing meals, training my pup, doing laundry, etc on my “days off”... when I feel like it. Husband does it all when I crash!)
I continue with many of the same treatments I’ve been on (see below for details):

THINGS I TAKE/DO DAILY (AS OF 1/21/08)
+Eat “strict hypoglycemic diet” as recommended on www.fibromyalgiatreatment.com site with low-cal snacks in between meals
+Ultra-Glycemix combined with Whey Protein Isolate shake 8 oz in cold water with 1-2 tsp freshly ground flax seed x1 (first thing in a.m.) or 2 daily [helps stabilize blood sugar and regulate BM’s.]
+soy protein tabs 4 chewables between meals as needed [to stabilize blood sugars.]
+(extremely good quality) Cod Liver Oil 1 tsp daily to boost immune system/balance all systems
+L-Glutamine 500mg x1 daily (in a.m.) [helps w/ allergies and helps to protect against absorption of toxins.]
+Guaifenesin 600mg (compounded) x2 daily [Fibro treatment protocol]
+DHEA 25 mg x2 daily [helps with energy/brain alertness]
+L-Carnitine 500 mg x2 daily [helps metabolism]
+L-Lysine 500 mg x2 daily [helps hold Herpes outbreaks at bay]
Basic Nutrients (with copper and iron) x2 daily [mega vitamin prescribed by my Naturopathic Physician]
+Remedium Solution 1 tsp x1 or x2 daily [solution provided by my Naturopathic Physician to boost immune system]
+Compounded Progesterone Cream on soft skin areas about 20 days out of the month [hormone replacement therapy needed for menopause]... WARNING: might cause fibrocystic disease in breasts to flare. Monitor carefully.
+Hot jacuzzi tub baths (NO CHEMICALS)
+I had been on a compounded Thyroid (3) regime but didn’t really notice much advantage after a few months so am currently experimenting with NOT USING IT. I am keeping close tabs on my energy levels/weight.
DRINK AT LEAST 10 8 OZ GLASSES OF PURE WATER
++all meds are generic unless specified differently
+Celexa 20 mg at bedtime [to keep depression at bay]
+Tylenol w/ sl amt codeine “222’s” from Canada 2 tabs every 4 hours as needed for moderate pain
+(generic) Tylenol #3 1/2 tab x1-3 daily as needed for severe pain
+Flexoril 5 mg x1-2 daily as needed for severe pain
FOR MIGRAINE TREATMENT ONLY
(WARNING: WILL STOP GUAIFENESIN FROM WORKING!)
+Excedrine Migraine (not generic) 2 tabs as directed at immediate onset of migraine
+MigraClear 2 capsules every 2 hours until migraine begins to subside, then 2 tabs every 4 hours as needed until migraine is completely gone
+Flexoril 5 mg at immediate onset of migraine and 5 mg every 4 hours until intensity subsides
+Aspirin, extra strength 2 tabs every 4-6 hours as directed for stffness/pain
+GO IMMEDIATELY TO BED IN A DARK ROOM, TRY TO FALL ASLEEP, HEAD PROPPED VERY HIGH. (I get extremely nauseated and if vomiting occurs, all treatment is in vain.)
+Plan on being a zombie the next day after the migraine is gone. I’m sure part of this is due to the drugs taken but I wonder, too, whether it is brain interference/exhaustion.
